Updating do not turn power off
Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won\u0027t shut down properly.
I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down.
Ideally, you should only use this button to turn on the computer; to turn it off, use your operating system software.
With most computers, when you quickly press the power button once, the computer will power off automatically.
When I choose restart everything seems to load as normal. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The screen does go blank but I can hear the hard disk spinning for almost a whole minute and I can see the LED indicator flashing.
The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. After some time, the hard disk stops and only then I power off the switch in the wall. The blog you linked for your comment helped me the other day when I was trying to fix this same issue on my PC but then a mod deleted it. Had to do a restore after applying fix and now PC doesn't turn off correctly again.
For example, while Microsoft Windows or another operating system is updating the computer, if you turn off the computer during the update, the files being updated may become corrupt.
The corrupt files can cause the computer to have errors or not boot at all.
If you turn off a computer during a BIOS or firmware update, the computer or hardware may stop working and may require a hardware replacement.
Ethernet generally started as coaxial cables (Thick Net and Thin Net) before they came up with the electrical standards for twisted pair wiring later on. Will they disappear someday and never get retrieved?
I had to wire an entire exhibit area with coax for a conference exhibit hall. Uploading to cloud, you may as well just send it to a friend or neighbor and hope they don't lose it for you.
